A different FNAF game for fans
Five Nights at Freddy's Security Breach is a survival horror game published by ScottGames. This is the ninth main installment in the Five Nights at Freddy's series and the thirteenth game overall. The game took place after the events of Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted.
Gameplay-wise, Security Breach has the most unique story in the FNAF series. Instead of sitting in the room and watching security cameras, players will roam around the facility while evading animatronics on the map. Unfortunately, the app is also teeming with bugs and glitches. Sometimes the buttons also refuse to work.
Experience a different premise
Five Nights at Freddy's Security Breach is the latest installment of the horror game franchise. The game follows Gregory, a young boy who finds himself trapped after hours in Fazbear's Mega Pizza Plex. In this story, he is convinced that the security personnel are after him. The only way to survive is to find the exit. In a surprising turn of events, he goes for the titular Freddy Fazbear for help.
Aside from a different protagonist and premise, this installment also offers unique gameplay. As mentioned, the game does not confine you inside the security room. You also are not forced to conserve a limited power supply. Instead, you can roam the facility as Gregory from one location to another. However, the scary animatronics are still here, and you still have to evade them to survive.
Unravel more of FNAF
You’ll also have to run, crouch, and hide from these animatronics. More than that, you’ll also have access to a nifty tool called Faz-Watch. This tool will let you view maps and read messages picked up from random areas on the map. You can also check security cameras for nearby danger and look at their current objectives. The Faz-Watch will come in handy in traversing the facility, as each area looks vastly different from one another with no central theme.
Visually, Security Breach is a significant leap forward with colorful neon lighting, detailed environments, and unsettling designs that contrast the playful setting with underlying dread. The sound design features eerie ambient music and sudden stingers, enhancing the horror atmosphere. While the performance was rough at launch, with bugs and frame drops reported across platforms, patches have improved stability. The game offers multiple endings depending on your choices and exploration, encouraging multiple playthroughs.
Is the game worth it?
Five Nights at Freddy's Security Breach offers a mixed experience for fans of the franchise. It offers a new premise filled with lots of narrative surprises. It still references the older games and includes gameplay elements that any survival horror fans will enjoy. However, the app is riddled with bugs and glitches that sometimes render the game unplayable. Additionally, its jump scares are mediocre compared to the previous titles in the franchise.
